  171.     Peter's Warbirds requires an IBM compatible computer with at least 
  172. 512K of memory, a VGA display and a Microsoft compatible mouse. The 
  173. program installation process is quite easy. (Users obtaining .ZIP files 
  174. from the Internet or a BBS can skip this installation section.) 
  175.     First, make a backup copy of your Peter's Warbirds program disk. If 
  176. necessary consult your PC-DOS/MS-DOS manual for a description of the 
  177. DISKCOPY command. Save the original program disk in a safe place and use 
  178. the copy as the working program disk. 
  179.     Second, while it is possible to use Peter's Warbirds on a floppy 
  180. disk system, a hard disk system is a necessity for reasonable speed and 
  181. storing a number of pictures your child has created. To install Peter's 
  182. Warbirds on a hard disk use the following steps: 
  183.  
  184.     1. Insert the floppy disk in your computer in drive A. (or B if 
  185.        necessary)
  186.     2. Type A: (or B:)
  187.     3. Type INSTALL A C (or INSTALL B C)
  188.  
  189.     Any hard drive letters can be used, for example INSTALL B D will 
  190. install the program from floppy drive B to hard drive D. The 
  191. installation will create a directory called PETER1 on your hard drive 
  192. and you will need to enter a CD\PETER1 to change to the Peter's Warbirds 
  193. directory before running the program. Once installed just type PETER to 
  194.

  196. start the program. If your computer gives a series of beeps when you run
  197.  
  198. Peter's Warbirds it is probably because it cannot find the image files 
  199. it needs to run, and other problems may be showing up as well. All the 
  200. files for Peter's Warbirds need to be in the same directory for the 
  201. program to operate successfully. 
  202.     Peter's Warbirds is a DOS program and should be run in DOS mode, ie. 
  203. started from the C:> (or D:>) prompt. Running the Bert's Coloring 
  204. Programs from Windows may cause some problems. In addition running from 
  205. a compressed hard disk may cause problems.
